BUYING

PREVIEW:
Preview days will be available and announced per auction. This gives anyone a chance to come in and look over the items that are up for auction. Pictures and descriptions will be as accurate as possible, but nothing compares to a personal inspection done by you. Descriptions are provided by the owners. Once a bid is placed, it is a binding contract and winning bidder will be responsible for all costs. Bid retractions are not allowed.

REGISTRATION:
To become a bidder, you must first register to bid on our site by clicking on the “Register to Bid” button on the left side of the page. Please take a moment to read our Terms and Conditions because by registering, you automatically agree to all Terms and Conditions of our site. Next, fill in your information, submit it, and you will instantly receive an e-mail with your permanent online bidder number. (Any accounts set up to maliciously bid on items to disrupt our auctions, will be traced and legal action will be taken.)

If you are interested in bidding and do not have regular internet access, you can stop in and register for an account with us. At that time, you will fill out an agreement to auction Terms and Conditions, and a form authorizing us to set up an account for you and to place your maximum bids, on your behalf.

LOCATION:
Most items are located at B & K Sales & Online Auctions, LLC. Occasionally items may be located elsewhere. If this should be the case, it will be noted in the auction details and item description. Winning bidder will be responsible for picking up such noted items at that location provided. Payment must be paid in full before pickup can be made.

PLACING A BID:
After registering, go to any current auction and click on “View Items and Bid”. You can log in by using your bidder number and password, located at the bottom of the page. To place a bid, go to the item and type in your bid amount in the box on the right hand side of the page. When finished, click on “Submit Bids” located on the bottom of each page. After bidding on an item or items, it then places them into a watch list for you. To view your watch list, click on “Review Bids” at the bottom of the page to watch only the items you have bid on.

Simply click on any picture to see additional pictures for that item or lot. These pictures will also be larger for better viewing.

When placing a “maximum bid”, the computer will bid for you up to your maximum amount, as other bidders may bid against you. By entering a maximum bid, it does not mean it will sell for that amount. If the bidding stops before it reaches your maximum bid, you will get it for the current bid price, which may be much lower. This is also known as a “Proxy” Bid.

Keep in mind that when you place a bid, the computer could automatically come back with a higher bid from another bidder. Some people are not aware of how that works and think that there is someone on the other side purposely up bidding them. This is not the case. This happens because a “maximum” or “proxy” bid had been placed by another bidder, which happened to be higher than your current bid. So this would continue to happen until you have exceeded their maximum bid.

If there is bidding activity in the last 3 minutes before an item or lot closes the bidding time will be extended and the countdown clock turns red. Bidding will close on each item when there is no more bidding activity within the extension.

AFTER AUCTION ENDS:
There is a 10% Buyer’s Premium on all lots which will be added to the invoice after auction ends.

Winning Bidders will receive an e-mail confirmation (with payment options) within 24 hours of the auction end, notifying you of your purchase.

If a Buyer is tax exempt in the state of Michigan, a Michigan Sales and Use Tax Certificate of Exemption Form must be filled out and provided to us. By Michigan law, we cannot accept only a number. A purchaser who claims exempt for “resale at retail” or “for lease” must also provide us with a sales tax license number or tax registration number. All purchases must be paid in full before items can be removed. All items must be removed within the dates stated per auction, unless other arrangements have been made with B & K Sales & Online Auctions, LLC. Winning Bidders are responsible for making their own arrangements for pickup or shipping. Buyers are responsible for bringing their own boxes, bags, packing materials, etc. for removal of their items won.

SHIPPING:
We appreciate customers, not just locally, but state-wide and nationally, as well. (Sorry, no international shipping at this time.) We are willing to ship almost any item or lot, except for large items that cannot be shipped in a box. We can ship items UPS or United States Postal Service (First Class, Priority Mail, Parcel Post, etc.) We will use the cheapest shipping option available to keep your costs down, unless a specific shipping method is requested. We use all sizes of Priority Mail Flat Rate envelopes and boxes, so we will utilize those if it is lower in cost. In addition to your item won, buyer’s premium, 6% Sales Tax (if a Michigan resident) we will bill you the cost of actual shipping & insurance, along with a $5.00 handling fee. There is a $2.50 handling fee on any additional items or lots if they can be combined in the same box. Handling fee is to help cover our shipping supplies, packaging material, our time in packaging and for processing the shipping label and getting the package shipped out. We package items with care, but will insure all packages because we cannot be held liable for packages once they have shipped. We will do our best to have your items shipped within 3-5 business days. Buyers will receive a shipping confirmation number via e-mail.

To ensure we are able to ship an item, it is best to contact us via email or phone for shipping approval, prior to bidding. If you become the winner of that item, you must contact us to confirm you want your item shipped, prior to paying your invoice. Invoice will be revised and re-sent, including the shipping charge and handling fee.
